Shirtmaking Book

A lot of books about men’s wardrobe talk about how men can dress up better. But for aspiring tailors and fashion designers, here’s a book I’d recommend, “Shirtmaking, Developing Skills for Fine Sewing”.  This book is written by David Page Coffin.

This guide summarizes techniques and tips on using tools for sewing effectively.  The key to this book is that it thoroughly and graphically shows how to create your own shirt, starting with the anatomy of every part of the shirt.  It gives you ideas on how to create basic and advanced shirt patterns… showing how to measure and cut every part of the shirt.  The book also contains timeless styles of mens’ shirts and how to sew them.  All these details are expertly illustrated in the book… afterall, shirtmaking isn’t just an art. It’s also exact science.

Cheers.
